July 2020 Newsletter
I hope this newsletter finds everyone healthy and positive during this time while we keep up with the constant changes that are happening with policy, at work, and in your community and family. We don’t always hear it, but I know our clients are thankful for the important work you do, especially in these unpredictable times.
In this newsletter, I planned to update everyone with a sneak peek at the plans being made for our October conference. The MFWCAA board was off to a great start with new ideas and exciting plans put into place.
Unfortunately, after much thought and consideration, the decision has been made to cancel the MFWCAA October conference scheduled for October 21-23, 2020. We considered your feedback from the survey sent out in May, the financial implications of continuing when attendance is unknown, and the safety of our attendees. Due to the ongoing uncertainties during this time, cancellation was a unanimous vote by the MFWCAA board. We needed to make decisions now based on what we know today, not how we hope things will be in October.
We are exploring options to coordinate an online experience for our members, so keep watching for details on our website at www.mfwcaa.org, and for more information from your region representative!
We will still be honoring a Financial Worker/Case Aide of the Year in 2020, so remember to get your nominations in by July 31st. We all have coworkers that go above and beyond so let’s make sure they are recognized!
The MFWCAA board looks forward to bringing everyone together again next year at Madden’s on Gull Lake in beautiful Brainerd, MN! Mark your calendars for October 20-22, 2021!
Stay safe and well!

MFWCAA Fall Conference
October 20-22, 2021
Madden’s on Gull Lake
The MFWCAA scholarship program is very important to our organization. We have been honored to offer scholarships to members and their families to support them in continuing their education.
The last few years we have been able to give away 10 – $500 scholarships each year! This has been possible with continued help from our members through donated scholarship baskets, and the games and raffles you participate in at conference. We cannot thank you enough for your support in this program!
Unfortunately, this year will look a little different with our conference cancellation.
The MFWCAA board is busy brainstorming ideas for a different kind of scholarship fundraiser this year so we can continue offering scholarships in 2021. Stay tuned for more details!
